Skylark populations on the Swiss Plateau have been declining for many years, making conservation efforts increasingly urgent. Conservation areas—such as those designated within ecological connectivity projects—should be located where skylarks are still present and where habitat conditions are most suitable. This habitat suitability map highlights the areas within the Plateau’s arable regions where conservation measures for skylarks are likely to be most effective.
